How to Make a Startup Successful
So, you’re thinking of creating your own company, eh? Nothing like being your own boss, right? Nevermind the back-breaking work you have to do, the quizzing glances you’d be taking from people who doesn’t know better. Forget the long hours you have to put in during the first few years of operation… because it is yours! You own the company, and because of that you have to make it successful, so how do we do it? Do the following steps, that’s how.
- Be the only Founder
Who needs other people anyway, right? You thought of this idea alone and you’d pursue this idea alone! Who cares if people think that none of your friends trust that you and your idea will be successful? It’s ok! You can do it all by yourself, decisions and such are such a pain if you have to argue with people all the time just to get to a conclusion.
It’s better to be alone even if all of the successful companies have more than one founder, you’ll definitely make it to history books (of successful businesses at least) if you’re able to make it alone, right? Right?! That’s perfect! Definitely be on your own.
- Don’t Bother Looking for the Best Location
It’s probably a waste of time anyway. If you put your company in a location where there are a lot of startups, won’t that only accelerate you business’ fall? Sure, the standards are higher; that’s where almost all of the experts are; people are more sympathetic to what you’re doing; the kind of people you want to hire want to live there; supporting industries are there; the people you run into in chance meetings are in the same business. But who can actually guarantee that this will be able to help your company prosper and actually beat your largest competitor in the long run? A lot of people actually, but that’s not the point! The centers of each industry is too crowded a place for you to even squeeze into it. Got it?
- Avoid Competitions - At All Cost!
Okay.. It’s a given fact that challenges are great and all, if you win! Right now, there are a lot of startups that are into Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and web design and development so why start a company in that niche as well? Won’t that only be harder to attain the ultimate goal which is success?
That’s why you should look for a niche that is hardly noticeable. That way, there would be less competitions and it would be faster to look for clients and all. It would take less effort to be able to get into the business.
- Imitate, Imitate, Imitate
There are unstable but innovative ideas and there are imitated but tried and tested ideas, which one is better? Of course, it has to be the tried and tested idea! Why work harder over something that you don’t know whether it’ll succeed or not, right? So what if you imitated it from some well-known company. At least you know that the strategy works because, look, the one you imitated is already at the top!
- Never, Ever be Flexible
You created a strategy plan for a reason and that is to be followed! Never, ever forget something as important as that! You can’t just follow the trail where it leads you, whatever will happen if you do that? What if it leads you to the destruction of your company in no time? You can not let that happen, you just can’t! This company is your life for the moment and you have to do everything in your power so that everything is according to your plan. So what if Google’s founders didn’t create a business plan the first time they thought of organizing world’s files? That’s none of our concern is it?
- Hire Incompetent People
Competent people and experts are very costly for a startup to pay for. Why bother hiring them if you could find people that you could train into experts, right? You just have to give them some time and voila! An expert and competent person for a fraction of the cost! Brilliant idea, isn’t it?
So there, just some points to help you be successful in the field (better make sure that it’s not too crowded!) of your liking. These are tried and tested techniques that will be able to help you and specially your company to be the best out there.
Note: Just in case you still haven’t figured it out by now, these “tips” will not make you successful, these are the list of what you must not do to succeed, got it? Good luck in your endeavor then!
